Jay: A Challenge
As I sit in our newsroom at 2:40 on Thursday morning(we wrapped up the “11pm” at 2:15) I just finished up some research for this post.
A back story if I may: There I was, working out @ the Gym Wednesday morning, when, much to my surprise, the new live 9am sportscenter ran a feature called the Morning Buzz! Yes, the same title as your favorite Connecticut news blog!! How dare they I thought, blatantly ripping off the title of the little blog that could and using it as their own. I know the WWL runs ruckshaw over most of the media world, but I wasn’t going to sit back and let this injustice pass. I was going to fight for us and the integrity that our AM crew stands for. So I googled the phrase “morning buzz” and holy crap there were alot of hits. In fact I went thru 12 pages and our blog had yet to pop up, and there I sat, humbled. Realizing that we were a mere speck in the vast webscape. Hoping that we weren’t that insignificant, I decided to search through google images. Low and behold, there we were, on page six and ESPN is nowhere in site. YES WE MAY BE SOMEBAODY!!!! So a minor victory this morning. What’s my point you ask, really nothing except that it is now 3am and my mind tends to wander this early(or is it late?)

Sleep deprivation, perhaps?

Funny thing is, I am getting more sleep on this craxy schedule then on my normal schedule. I actually get a full eight hours other then my two hour and 4 1/2 to 5 hours at night. Besides the gorgeous afternoons are over-rated.

“A mere speck in the vast webscape” perhaps. But a giant to us.
Buck up, buckaroo.
