As we get deep into the baseball season,Carlos Qu the MVP talk starts heating up around this time. Let me be the first(I think) to officially kick off the Kevin Youkilis AL MVP campaign. Last year he won a gold glove and a world series. This year he set the consecutive chances w/o an error and was the starting 1st baseman on the All Star team. He has steadily improved his numbers every yearand this year he is on pace for 30 homers, 113 rbi’s, 185 runs, 80 extra base hits, 56 walks, a .300 avg, a .380 on-base, and a .580 slugging. Those along with more gold glove defense are MVP numbers. He can play third as well, and if needed, the outfield. Youk has fit in nicely behind Papi in the order making us forget, uh, what’s his name. You know the guy with the dreads, armarez or something like that. You have other contenders like Carlos Quentin of the White Sox, Justin Morneau of the Twins, and Jermaine Dye of the White Sox. Sorry Josh Hamilton but I only pick guys from teams in contention. Evan Longoria of the Rays may be involved, but he’s getting rookie of the year. I know these other three players bring comparable, if not better stats to the plate, but no one brings the whole package like Youk, plus he has the best facial hair in the sport….
